As part of its 10th anniversary celebration of the 2016 World Series champions, the Chicago White Sox are unveiling 'Champions Gate' at Gallagher Way, a historic archway on the west side of Wrigley Field. This monument will mark the club’s 1907, 1908, and 2016 World Series triumphs, with construction set to begin on May 8 and conclude on July 18. Work on the gate will be completed before the dedication ceremony, which coincides with the Cubs’ 10th anniversary celebration. During construction, pedestrian traffic will be rerouted via a protected barrier walkway. A photo of the site was captured Saturday, May 9, showing the area where the monument will be installed. As this project unfolds, more photos are expected, along with coverage of the event on July 18.
