ITV's 2026 Schedule Shake-Up: Budget Cuts and Show Changes (2026)

ITV's 2026 schedule shake-up has arrived, with budget cuts forcing the channel to shorten fan-favorite shows. The changes have come into effect today, following the loss of over 200 behind-the-scenes jobs. Good Morning Britain, a beloved show, has been extended by half an hour, now starting at 6 am and ending at 9:30 am. However, this has led to the unfortunate reduction of Lorraine Kelly's self-titled show by 30 minutes, leaving fans tuning in at 9:30 am, just as This Morning begins at 10 am. This flagship ITV show remains unaffected, concluding at its usual time of 12:30 pm. Despite no change in runtime, Loose Women will now air for only 30 weeks annually. These adjustments are a result of ITV's budget cuts, which have impacted 220 jobs across the daytime TV staff. Good Morning Britain, This Morning, and Loose Women have been relocated to the BBC's London Television Centre since 2018. GMB will now broadcast from ITN Studios in Central London, while other ITV daytime shows will be filmed at The H Club in Covent Garden. Kevin Lygo, boss, explained that these changes will enable the channel to continue delivering a schedule with the news, debate, and discussion viewers love, while also generating savings for reinvestment in other genres. The move has been emotionally challenging for the team, as they bid farewell to the Television Centre, where they've worked for years on various shows. Presenters and crew were seen in tears as they said goodbye, marking the end of an era for many long-serving staff members.
