Jack Miller's Suzuka 8 Hours Return in Doubt Due to Tight MotoGP Calendar
After a successful runner-up finish with the factory Yamaha team in 2025, Jack Miller expressed his desire to return to the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours in 2026. However, he acknowledges the challenge of the event's timing, which could potentially clash with his MotoGP commitments.
The 2026 Suzuka 8 Hours is scheduled for July 3-5, a weekend just before the Sachsenring MotoGP race, which means the break won't start until after the German Grand Prix. Miller, who finished second in the 2025 event with teammates Andrea Locatelli and Katsuyuki Nakasuga, is aware of the potential conflict.
"I'd love to do it, but it'll be a tight schedule," Miller told Crash.net. "It falls during the break between Assen and Sachsenring, and recovery will be crucial. I'm not ruling it out, but it's a matter of whether my team and I are willing to take on the challenge. I'll discuss it further, as I always welcome more racing opportunities."
The LCR Honda star, Johann Zarco, who won the 2025 Suzuka 8 Hours with Takumi Takahashi, faces a similar scheduling dilemma if he aims to defend his title in 2026. Additionally, former world champion Fabio Quartararo, who has not yet participated in the 8 Hours, expressed his interest in the iconic race.
"Suzuka is a legendary race and a dream track to ride," Quartararo said. "While I don't feel it's the right time for me yet, I'm determined to participate in the 8 Hours one day."
As Peter, a seasoned paddock observer, reflects on the Suzuki exit and Marc Marquez's injuries, the tight MotoGP calendar adds another layer of complexity to the racing world's calendar, leaving fans and riders alike eagerly awaiting the final decisions.
